Super Orient Courser Direct from China performs at Ravinia

Celebrate Asian-American Heritage Month by seeing a thrilling performance by Super Orient Courser at Ravinia at 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 21, in Bennett Gordon Hall. Tickets are just $10 (cash only) at the door or purchase tickets In advance.

Super Orient Courser is a group of young musicians who have brought contemporary flair to the Mongolian Morin Khurr or horse head fiddle. They performed for President Obama during his official state visit to China and have toured around the world. Overtone singing is a physical phenomenon in which the singer truly uses the body and especially the mouth to produce unique melodic tones.

Ravinia is proud to support this event hosted by the Chicago Chinese Cultural Institute. Admission is paid to the institute to help underwrite the cost of the program

A Party with a Purpose: Music Matters

Mix and mingle with friends and meet new people who share your interest in Ravinia and supporting music education at the Music Matters Benefit hosted by Ravinia's Associates Board at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, May 7, at Venue One, 1044 W. Randolph St., Chicago. The evening begins with cocktails, hors d'oeuvres and silent auction followed by dinner, live auction and entertainment and dancing. Tickets Available Now

Don’t wait to get the concert tickets you want for the 2011 season! Reserved seats are already gone for Moody Blues on June 11, Daryl Hall & John Oates on June 26, Maroon 5 on June 30 and July 1, Jennifer Hudson on July 16, Steely Dan for both August 12 and 13, Chicago for August 27 and Carrie Underwood on September 4. Lawn tickets are still available for these concerts but they won’t last long. Maroon 5 is sold-out on July 1 for lawn and pavilion. The pavilion is also sold-out for Maroon 5 on June 30 but limited lawn seats are available.
