Tenor Rene Barbera Steps in for Ailing Charles Castronovo in The Magic Flute

Ravinia Festival welcomes acclaimed tenor René Barbera to the cast of its Aug. 16 and 18 performances of Mozart’s The Magic Flute with James Conlon conducting the Chicago Symphony Orchestra in the Martin Theatre. Barbera has stepped into the role of Tamino after Charles Castronovo was forced to withdraw due to illness. The cast also features Nathan Gunn as Papageno, Erika Miklosa as Queen of the Night, Morris Robinson as Sarastro and John DeLancie as the narrator.
