Chicago Legend Mavis Staples to Join Buddy Guy

As if one Chicago legend weren’t enough, Buddy Guy has added R&B and gospel singer Mavis Staples as his special guest in concert Aug. 19 at Ravinia. Staples, also known as a formidable civil rights activist, began her career singing in churches with her family group, The Staples Singers, and recorded such hits as “Respect Yourself” and “I’ll Take You There.”
