Don’t miss out on the fun your kids can have at Ravinia this summer! Catch “Beethoven Lives Upstairs” with the Oistrakh Symphony of Chicago on July 11, where you can expect an astounding production told through lively letters between a young boy named Christoph and his uncle about the “madman” who has moved into the upstairs apartment of Christoph’s Vienna home—the madman is Beethoven! Laurie Berkner is another must-see performer who brings her storytelling through songs on August 7. Berkner will feature popular hits like “Victor Vito,” “We Are the Dinosaurs,” “Pig On Her Head,” newer hits from her latest albums, and more! Kids should plan to bring their dancing shoes and a stuffed animal (for their heads).
This summer, families will also have access to the Ravinia KidsLawn. This family-friendly space on the North Lawn is the perfect place to let the kids run and play between interactive, large-scale percussion instruments on which they can make their own kind of music. On select dates, KidsLawn will also feature a “strings petting zoo,” arts and craft kits, and/or live performance activities.
Additional activities will be available during the following dates:
