In preparation for the forming of the new ‘El Sistema’ influenced Ravinia Immersion in Symphony Education ( R.I.S.E. ) Orchestra, seventy-five (75) students from Circle Rock Charter School travelled to Hibbard Elementary School to meet the students of the YOURS Project. They were treated with a performance of all three levels of the Hibbard Orchestra, some of whom have only been playing since September, and were then able to talk directly with the student musicians.
Ramsey Lewis, who is passionate about music education, attended as a guest and enjoyed the program immensely. Other guests included a handful of Ravinia Trustees, Women’s Board members, and Associates.
