Ravinia CEO Is Lookin’ Sharp as Edward Scissorhands on WGN

Every Monday, Ravinia President and CEO Welz Kauffman appears with announcer Mike Toomey on WGN’s “Ravinia Minute” segment which airs in the 9 a.m. hour every Monday on WGN-TV. Each week Welz highlights upcoming events at the festival and presents them in very creative fashion. Today, he took a stab at something new, costuming up as Edward Scissorhands to discuss the July 14 concert by the Chicago Symphony Orchestra performing Danny Elfman’s Music from the Films of Tim Burton. Check out some behind-the-scenes images from the set of WGN.

The first cut is the deepest as makeup artist Denise Wynbrandt applies a powder base followed by Edward’s accidental wounds.

Turnabout is fair play. With shear delight, Welz gets into character by putting Denise in the makeup chair for a bit of Edwardian coif magic.

Guess no one told Welz it was unsafe running (a business) with scissors.

Looking sharp, Welz’s transformation is complete.
